Donation Process: Grifols return donor compensation is based on the volume of plasma donated, whereas Biomat USA and Talecris offer a fixed amount. Donors can maximize earnings by donating twice in the same week.
Donor Tiers (Grifols)
- Tier 1: 670–749 mL of plasma
- Tier 2: 750–849 mL of plasma
- Tier 3: 850–899 mL of plasma
- Tier 4: 900–975 mL of plasma
The amount of plasma a donor can donate depends on their weight, those over 175 pounds typically get paid the most.
New Donor Compensation: New donors get paid the same fixed amount, regardless of plasma volume. New donors can expect the first-time donor bonus to pay about $100 per donation for the first four donations made within the first month. New donors can earn about $600-$675 if they donate the maximum of eight times during their first month.
Return Donor Compensation: Grifols pays based on plasma volume, while Biomat USA and Talecris offer a fixed amount. Donors are paid more when they donate twice in the same week. For example, if a donor is paid $50 for their first donation of the week, they may earn $75 for their second donation. On the lowest end, donors may get paid $35 for their first donation of the week and $45 for their second donation.
Referral Program (Buddy Bonus Program): You can earn $50 per person referred who successfully completes two donations.
Loyalty Program: Grifols, Biomat USA, and Talecris do not offer a loyalty program. They use DonorHub where donors can schedule appointments, cancel appointments, and complete health questionnaires.
