Things to know about ABO Donation Compensation

ABO Plasma

ABO Plasma is a smaller chain with six locations in the west and central United States. Donor reviews frequently praise the service and professionalism at ABO Plasma.

General Strategy:

  • New donors receive a bonus for their first four donations within the first month, with these donations being the most highly compensated. If a new donor donates the maximum of eight times in their first month, the last four donations will be compensated at a standard rate.
  • Returning donors are compensated more the more frequently they donate within the same month, with pay increasing gradually until the maximum of eight donations is reached or the next month begins.
  • Referrals can also increase earnings for returning donors.

Donor Tiers and Pay:

New Donors: New donors can expect to earn up to $600 during their first month. As an example, in August 2023, a new donor reported earning $425 for their first four donations, broken down as $100, $125, $100, and $100 respectively.

Returning Donors: Compensation for returning donors varies by location and is paid on an incremental basis. For instance, a donor's first donation of the month might pay $45, increasing gradually to $100 for their eighth donation of the month. One donor reported being paid $45 for each of their first four donations, followed by $60 for the next two, and $100 for the final two, totaling $500 for eight donations in a month. You can generally expect to earn between $300 and $400 as a return donor. Pay is also based on donor weight and the volume of plasma donated per session.

  • Donors under 140 pounds may receive as little as $20 per donation.

Bonuses:

  • New Donor Bonus: Activated for the first four donations. A new donor can expect to earn up to $600 during their first month.
  • Referral Bonus: During promotional months, referral bonuses can reach up to $100 per referred person who successfully completes two plasma donations. The typical referral bonus is about $50 per referral for most of the year.

Specific Programs:

ABO Plasma does not currently have a loyalty or rewards program for return donors.
